Chapter 21: Psychic Abilities - ESP

In this chapter, we will switch our focus back to the subconscious and begin our main discussion on the topic of psychic abilities. We will attempt to establish a basic framework that defines just what psychic abilities are and how they actually work in practice. We will primarily be looking at sensory type psychic abilities which are generally referred to by the umbrella term “ESP” in parapsychology. As you will see, psychic abilities are fairly unique in that they tend to function in a slightly different way from pretty much all of your other transcendental mental abilities. Because of this, I strongly recommend to fully read the chapter, all the way to the end, before actually attempting to use psychic abilities. This will allow you to better understand all of the nuances involved in this practice as well as ensuring that you have a more complete picture of what’s actually going on at the subconscious level. Furthermore there are also precautionary advisories that we will discuss later in the chapter that should be understood in great detail before deciding to use psychic abilities as well.

WHAT ARE PSYCHIC ABILITIES?

To start things off, let’s try to answer the most basic question at the heart of any discussion on psychic abilities – namely, what exactly are they? Sure we use this term in everyday language all the time but what do we really mean when we say it? What separates a regular ability from a “psychic” ability? In parapsychology the term “psi” is a substance that gives people the ability to interact with objects at a distance. Although this substance has never been detected in a lab, it is presumed to exist and give people the ability to know certain things about an object without the use of the 5 known senses. It is also believed to give people the ability to influence an object in some way at a distance. To better understand the nature of psychic abilities I too have come up with my own explanatory model regarding what they are. To set up this model, we must first make a somewhat uncomfortable distinction that I’ve been surreptitiously avoiding for pretty much the entire book. This rather perturbing distinction has to do with the difference between what is colloquially referred to as your “spirit” and the part of the self that we’ve simply been referring to as your subconscious mind. You’ve likely heard the term “spirit” used throughout your entire life and we’ve even used this term a bit throughout this book as well. But what we haven’t done is establish a clear difference between your spirit and your subconscious mind. Where exactly does one end and the other begin? Until now such a difference was largely immaterial to our discussion so I, for the most part, simply ignored it.

However, in the case of psychic abilities, we must now talk about both aspects of the self at the same time. To keep things simple, I will first talk about psychic abilities in terms of the spirit. To understand the most basic framework of my belief on psychic abilities, I’d like to first talk about a rather interesting phenomenon that I’ve noticed is commonly reported in near death experiences. In many of these cases, people have reported experiences where they will simply think of a question and then all of a sudden they just sort of know the answer to their pondered question immediately. They didn’t necessarily even verbalize their question or ask someone nearby either, they simply thought of the question and just like that they knew the answer. This hasn’t been reported in all near death experiences of course, but it has been reported often enough to at least capture my attention and interest. Just what is the force or power that’s responsible for causing this innate “just knowing” phenomenon that occurs in response to internal questions we have? Is this some power that is exercised by another being – presumably God – who is monitoring the whole near death experience? Or does this power actually represent an innate ability we have to just know things which, for whatever reason, seems to lie dormant when we’re consciously awake in our physical body? Contrarily, it seems to naturally awaken whenever we’re having an out of body experience such as the kind that’s occurring during an NDE. I believe the answer is actually the latter, namely this ability “to know” is an innate function of our spirit – though given to us of course by God. In fact I think it actually goes even further than this. I believe this innate function of our spirit is actually what allows us to “sense” reality overall. This includes what we’ve come to know as the 5 senses.

To understand this, let me first say that I believe that our spirit’s ability to sense reality is actually dampened when we’re awake and in our physical body.  However, when at full power, our spirit has the ability to sense reality in a much more advanced way. Ok but then where does the subconscious enter into all of this? Well I believe that your subconscious actually has the ability to charge in a way that sort of restores your spirit’s senses to back to its more full powered state. Now where the subconscious ends and the spirit begins, I couldn't tell you. However, I still find it useful to think of psychic abilities in this paradigm. And when your subconscious charges to enhance your spirit’s senses, you gain access to a new transcendental ability – the ability to “sense” reality using your spirit instead of just using your physical body. This allows you to sense things “at a distance” – which means without any physical interaction between you and the thing that’s being sensed. This more advanced form of sensing from the spirit is what we’ve come to colloquially refer to as a “psychic” ability. Of course there is a bit of hiccup that is inherent in this kind of theoretical framework that I’m setting up here. So far we’ve been working off the idea that the subconscious is a special part of the self that is able to express itself at a level of awareness called subconscious instinct. Furthermore your subconscious instinct is able to express an action that we’ve simply been calling subconscious action. Subconscious actions can express mental abilities such as emotion, physical movement, beliefs or creativity.

But if we’re going to follow this same theoretical structure and treat psychic abilities as being transcendental in nature, then does this mean that the subconscious has the ability to express itself in the form of “sensing” reality too? Well yes, I actually believe that it does. Although we did not talk about your 5 senses too much in terms of them being a subconscious action, we must now focus on them more so from that perspective. However, before moving on to that discussion, I’d like to just say that, going forward, I will often use the more general term “ESP”, from parapsychology, to refer to your sensory type psychic abilities. After these types of abilities are another category of psychic abilities that I like to call influence type psychic abilities. These are psychic abilities that allow you to actually influence or change an object in some way and not just sense it. In parapsychology, this category of psychic abilities is generally referred to by the umbrella term “psychokinesis”. I may occasionally borrow this term when discussing these abilities as well. We will focus on this category of psychic abilities in the next chapter.

SENSORY EXPRESSION OF SUBCONSCIOUS

To understand more about sensory type psychic abilities, I’d like to now talk about your “senses” from a more subconscious perspective. Within this theoretical framework we’re going to assume that all of your senses actually come from your spirit and that your subconscious, in a sense, regulates this process through its charge. Now what makes this form of subconscious action so unique is that it actually comes in two different forms. The first one, which is the unique one, is the involuntary one. When I first started to theorize that psychic abilities were a form of sensing from the spirit, I had to reconcile this with your actual 5 physical senses. Surely the 5 senses aren’t an altogether different phenomenon, consciousness wise, from the kind of sensing that goes on when you’re in spirit form and are observing the spirit world around you – such as during a near death experience or astral projection for example. And yet, it is clear that our senses aren’t picking up all of this information when we’re awake and are sensing the world around us. But if the part of my mind that’s responsible for “sensing” allows me to retrieve information about the physical world when I’m awake and then the spirit world when I’m having an out of body experience, then what causes it to switch between these two forms of sensing?

In thinking about this, I’ve come to believe that the subconscious is able to regulate which state your senses are operating in. When you’re awake, your subconscious essentially “turns off” your spiritual senses and relies instead on sensory information from the physical body. Your body retrieves information about the outside world and then relays that information to your brain in the form of chemical signals. Your brain then commands your subconscious to express the “sensing” subconscious action in a very specific way. Now what’s so unique about this kind of subconscious action is that it seems to be involuntary in nature. This means that it actually doesn’t respond to your intention the way that the rest of your mental abilities do. When you’re awake and sensing the physical world around you, your intention really doesn’t make any kind of difference as far as what you’re sensing. This even occurs, to a lesser degree, when having an out of body experience. There is an element of the experience that enables you to sense the local spirit world around you, within a few meters presumably, that isn’t completely dependent on your thoughts for the way it appears to you. At the same time though, when you have a thought and instantaneously know certain things as a result, this would seem to indicate that there is a part of your senses that does respond to your intention.

Putting all of together this means that there is both an involuntary aspect of your subconscious’ ability to sense things and a voluntary one. The involuntary component allows you to sense the local world around you, whether in the physical or spirit world, and the voluntary component allows you to sense certain aspects of reality based solely on intention and not distance. What we’re interested in studying is this voluntary component of subconscious sensing. Now, under normal circumstances, the voluntary component of subconscious sensing seems to be turned off. Presumably the body is commanding the subconscious in a specific way that heavily dampens this form subconscious expression. In fact it’s so dampened, that you can go your whole life without realizing that your subconscious can express itself in this way. However, when you charge the subconscious in the right way, using intention, you can stimulate your spirit to begin sensing reality through intention again. This is essentially the overall goal behind what you’re attempting to do when using psychic abilities. How to charge the subconscious to stimulate your spirit in this way is what we’re going to be discussing throughout the chapter.

SENSE INTENTIONS AND CLAIR TYPES

Now that we’ve gone over the main theoretical framework regarding what psychic abilities are, we’re ready to move on to discussing how to charge your subconscious to use psychic abilities. The good news is that your intentions play the same role in charging psychic abilities that they do in any transcendental ability. They would essentially quantize your subconscious instinct to use ESP to sense some particular thing you want to retrieve information about. In parapsychology, particularly in the remote viewing community, the thing that a person is attempting to retrieve information about, through psychic means, is generally referred to as the “target”. For example if a person is attempting to use ESP to determine the value or suite of some hidden playing card, then that particular card is the target in that instance. The target is actually the same thing as the subject of the intention you’d produce to use ESP. This is because the point of focus in the case of ESP would always be the thing you want to retrieve information about. Going forward we’ll be using the term target to refer to the subject of intentions that are meant to charge your ESP.

Now the term ESP, which actually stands for extra sensory perception, is a generalized term for retrieving information about a target psychically. However, we can get even more specific than this and talk about what kind of sensory information we’re retrieving through intention. For example, if I’m attempting to retrieve information about a person at a particular event, I could hold an intention that allows me to sense what the target looks like. However, I could also hold the intention to sense what the target sounds like as well. In other words we can use our intention to pick up very specific kinds of sensory information about the target. The special intention you’d use to sense information about the target is one that I like to call a “sense intention”. In the psychic community, there is actually already an existing nomenclature for talking about sense intentions that we can use. This well known nomenclature is seen in the “clairs” of psychic abilities, which we talk about below.

Clairvoyance –  Perhaps the most popular of all the clairs means “clear seeing”. This refers to seeing the target and attempting to collect visual information about it.

Clairaudience – Means “clear audio” and refers to hearing the target and attempting to collect audible information about it such as its pitch or timbre.

Clairgustance – This means “clear taste” and refers to attempting to taste the target. For example you can gain information about how bitter or sour the target is.

Clairtangence – Also know as psychometry means “clear touch”. This one is a bit weird because it’s not actually defined in the same way as the rest of the clairs are. Based on the normal way we’ve been going about things so far, you’d think that this one means attempting to collect tactile information about a target such as its texture. But no, for whatever reason, this clair type just means using general ESP while physically touching the target. You’re allowed to collect any kind of sensory information about the target and it still counts as clairtangence as long as you’re doing it through psychic means and are touching the object while doing it.

Clairelience – This means “clear smell” and refers to retrieving information about how the target smells.

Clairecognizance – This means “clear knowing” and actually doesn’t have any representation in terms of the normal five physical senses. You might think of it as a true 6th sense because of this. This one refers to collecting more abstract information about the target such as its age, location, history and things like that. Basically abstract pieces of information that be can’t be physically sensed directly, even if you were physically next to the object. I find that this clair type generally accompanies all clair types to some degree. This means that you’re generally going to be picking up some abstract piece of information about a target any time you’re attempting to use psychic abilities to collect concrete information about the target.

There are actually even more clair types than this too but I primarily wanted to give you a general idea of the clairs in terms of its most familiar types. With that being said, the technique for using ESP is pretty much the same no matter what specific clair type it is that we’re focusing on in the moment. For this reason, we will primarily be discussing psychic abilities in terms of just one of the clair types – clairvoyance. The same rules will apply to the other clair types and can easily be adapted for those forms of ESP as well.

PSYCHIC ENERGY

I’d like to now start talking about the nature of ESP when it comes to charging the subconscious. We won’t necessarily be focusing on the technique for accomplishing this just yet, but rather, I’d like to establish a useful formalism for talking about the act of charging the subconscious for the purpose of psychic abilities. Recall from chapter 3, that we started talking about charging your subconscious in a way that increases your connection to God in terms of spiritual energy. This is because connecting to God cannot be defined simply in terms of a single subconscious frequency. On the contrary, connecting to God pretty much causes your subconscious to charge at all positive subconscious frequencies to a degree. A similar paradigm seems to be at work when it comes to psychic abilities. When I used to practice psychic abilities and attempt to understand the underlying theory behind them, I used to think that my subconscious was switching to what I would simply call a “psychic frequency”. However, after thinking about this further, I began to believe that more was going on than just that.

Similarly to the case with God, it didn’t seem quite right to me that my subconscious had to switch to a single frequency to use psychic abilities. I actually didn’t have as much of a problem with it as I did for connecting to God though because I did notice that it became harder and harder for me to feel emotion as I charged psychic abilities more and more. This seemed to indicate to me that my subconscious had to switch to a unique frequency in order to use psychic abilities and that this frequency simply didn’t have any particular emotion assigned to it for whatever reason. However, as I thought about it more over time, it didn’t seem quite right to me that the subconscious should gain this ability to sense things at a distance only after switching to a certain frequency. For example it wouldn’t be quite right to say that if I want to feel emotion, my subconscious has to switch to the “emotion frequency” first. All frequencies supposedly have some emotional feeling associated with them. Similarly it doesn’t seem quite right to say that your subconscious has to switch to the psychic frequency to begin using psychic abilities. Instead it would seem more apt to say that your psychic abilities would always be in use, if not for dampening from the body, but what you’re able to sense is quantized by the frequency of your subconscious charge.

It’s a bit hard to talk about how subconscious frequency quantizes your psychic abilities however because these abilities tend to push away spiritual energy the more they charge. We’ll talk more about this later in the chapter. However, because psychic abilities can’t necessarily be described solely in terms of a subconscious frequency, I find it useful to talk about them in terms of a new term I like to call psychic energy. This term just refers to charging your subconscious for the purpose of activating your spirit’s senses and using them to sense a particular target. It should be noted that when you first start charging the subconscious to sense a particular target, information about that target will come in very blurry or foggy and will be hard to make any sense of. However, as psychic energy charges more and more, you will be able to perceive information about the target more and more clearly. As mentioned in the previous chapter, you will also notice your pineal gland reacting more and more strongly as you continue to charge psychic energy.

PSYCHIC CONNECTION AND AWAKENING

An important aspect of charging psychic energy that I’d like to now discuss has to do with the role that transcendental connection plays in it. When psychics talk about retrieving information about some particular target, they often talk about making a connection with it in the process. This is especially true when it comes to the skill of psychometry. This involves holding or touching an object, that is itself connected to the target in some way, in order to psychically gain information about that target. But what does this lingo of “connecting” with the target really mean? Is this just a bunch of gibberish that psychic frauds say in order to seem as though they’re doing something supernatural or is there really something going on here that is akin to the act of “connecting” to something?

Well in my experience, yes there is actually a form of connecting that goes on at the subconscious level. To understand this, let me first just say that one thing I’ve noticed in using psychic abilities is that they’re not exclusive to some particular target. In other words when you’ve charged up a lot of psychic energy, this tends to awaken your spirit’s senses in a way that allows you to even psychically sense targets that you weren’t necessarily focused on as you were charging psychic energy. In other words targets that don’t actually carry the positive memory of your psychic energy charge can still be sensed to a decent degree using ESP. And this doesn’t appear to be the same phenomenon as a category in subconscious memory that we initially discussed in chapter 10 of book I. I’ve noticed that when I have a huge charge of psychic energy, I can sense targets that seem nothing like the initial target I charged my subconscious to sense. In fact, I’ve even found that I could use influence type psychic abilities more easily after charging my subconscious for sensory type psychic abilities first – I will talk about this more in the next chapter.

This tendency for your spirit’s senses to become activated in a way that allows you to start using psychic abilities in a more general way – which goes beyond the concept of closeness in subconscious memory – is one I like to sometimes refer to as awakening. I like to think of it as being the case that your spirit’s senses are normally asleep in a way. But when you charge psychic energy, even if to specifically sense a certain target, your spirit’s senses still become more awakened in the process and can now be used to sense other things in reality more easily. Thus you have the ability to use ESP in a way that’s not completely dependent on the specific target you charged your subconscious to sense. The more awakened your spirit’s senses are, the more easily you’ll be able to sense targets in general. However, with that being said, it is still true that your subconscious will have a much easier time psychically retrieving information about the target that you were focused on while charging psychic energy. And this may seem at first like a natural consequence of expressing the intention to sense that particular target and then charging your subconscious accordingly.

However, in my experience, it’s actually a little bit deeper than that. When I’m attempting to sense a specific target, I actually get the sense that I’m “connecting” to the target at the subconscious level. It has that same feeling of affecting my subconscious’ behavior on the more global scale that I described in chapter 3 for connecting to God. This will be highly consequential from an emotional and mental perspective depending on the nature of the target. We’ll talk more about these consequences later in the chapter. But for now it is important to simply say that anything you use psychic abilities on, will generally require you to transcendentally connect to that target. The main reason I believe this is the case, in spite of the fact that your spiritual senses don’t seem to actually require it for use, is due to how strongly your spiritual senses are dampened due to the influence from your body. In order to charge psychic energy to a high enough level to overpower your body and start sensing an object, you’ll have had to focus on that target for such a long time that you actually began to transcendentally connect to it. And, as a result of this transcendental connection, you gain a much higher affinity than usual for spiritually sensing this target.

PSYCHIC ENERGY DAMPENING

We’re now almost ready to begin talking about how to actually charge psychic energy and use ESP in practice. However, I’d like to cover one more topic before doing so. In this section, we’re going to revisit the topic of psychic energy dampening. Earlier, I mentioned that the body influences your subconscious in a way that weakens your ability to use your spirit’s senses. Well I’d like to now talk about just how extreme this dampening is and how it will affect how we go about charging the subconscious to use psychic abilities. I remember when I first began studying the subconscious and got the sense that the subconscious was a supernatural substance in nature, I figured that I’d begin attempting to use psychic abilities through it to test that assumption. At first my subconscious seemed to be charging for the purpose of using ESP, although I still didn’t exactly know how to use this charge to gain information about the target yet. I suspect this initial run of beginners luck was due to how new the experience was for me.

However, after that initial beginners luck worn off and my psychic energy discharged, I began to practice these abilities again and had a much harder time with them. Way back then, I noticed how my body responded in terms of pineal gland activity when I first I attempted to use psychic abilities but I wasn’t quite sure if that particular response was actually necessary for psychic activity. Perhaps it was a sufficient response for indicating psychic activity but it wasn’t a necessary one. Well, as I continued to practice further, I noticed that I could not induce that same tell tale response from my pineal gland when I attempted to charge psychic energy. This actually went on for a few months over the course of many different attempts to use ESP. Now because controlling the subconscious was still very new to me, I didn’t necessarily know what should and shouldn't be happening as my subconscious charged up psychic energy. In fact, during that time, I didn’t entirely even know that the subconscious charged in the fashion that I’ve come to understand it now.

I only began to understand the true charging nature of the subconscious when I noticed that my psychic abilities became stronger after attempting to sense a specific target for a fairly long period of time, over the course of many different sessions throughout the week. Well, after a while, I stopped practicing to use ESP and eventually began to practice influence type psychic abilities which we’ll discuss in the next chapter. By this time I was much more familiar with the nature of the subconscious and what happens when it charges up, so I figured that it shouldn’t be too hard to charge my subconscious for these kinds of abilities. I wasn’t sure exactly what would happen when my subconscious charged up using the underlying intention I held for the influence type psychic ability I was trying to use but I was curious to find out. However, after practicing to do this, I noticed once again that I was experiencing a great deal of difficulty in doing so. This was surprising to me because I was much more experienced in controlling my subconscious and did not expect to have so much trouble charging for this specific purpose.

And yet, no matter what I did or how hard I tried, I simply could not charge my subconscious to use these influence type psychic abilities. This was significant because it wasn’t the case that my subconscious was successfully charging up but I just couldn’t use psychic abilities during this time. Rather it was clear that my subconscious wasn’t actually charging at all. This was a problem because the ability I was testing out might still work if my subconscious would just charge up. But again no matter what I did, I could not get it to. I continued to keep on trying whatever I could to essentially figure out how to get my subconscious to charge in response to this influence type intention I was holding. Well after about a year of effort, I felt that I’d finally gotten my eureka moment and figured out how to successfully charge my subconscious for these kinds of intentions. Actually it was during that experience that I had discovered the process of pre-charging, which plays a very important role in charging psychic energy.

Eventually I came to realize that the reason I had so much trouble charging psychic energy was because I’d kept assuming that it charged in the same way as pretty much any other form of subconscious energy does – whether it be emotional, creative or spiritual. It never occurred to me that there was something unique about psychic abilities that caused them to charge differently from practically all other transcendental abilities. But eventually I came to believe that this is the case. What makes psychic energy so different from other transcendental abilities isn’t necessarily so much in the way that it charges up but rather is in the way the body behaves when it comes to that particular transcendental ability. I began to believe that the body must be going out of its way to dampen psychic energy and prevent it from charging it up. Now technically your brain is always trying to dampen your subconscious charging due to subconscious entropy. But that’s the difference I came to realize. Subconscious entropy occurs much more intensely for psychic abilities than with pretty much any other transcendental mental ability. In fact subconscious entropy is so intense for psychic energy, that its entropy rate can actually outpace your intention and does so quite easily if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Recall that the term subconscious entropy rate refers to how quickly your body is building up negative memory while you’re focused on a particular subject. Now normally, for pretty much any charge other than psychic abilities, the entropy rate is high but not so high that you can’t charge at all while using the main charging technique. You can always charge some emotion while focused on a subject, even if you do so for a long period of time in a single session. Psychic based intentions however, are different. The entropy with them is so high that you could sit there trying to use the main charging technique for hours and you still wouldn’t be able to charge too much psychic energy. The entropy rate easily outpaces your intention and can continue to build negative memory faster than you can build positive memory. Eventually so much negative memory will build up that it will feel like you can’t enter a transcendental state to charge any psychic energy at all, which is exactly what kept happening to me. It always felt like I was charging some psychic energy early on in my practice sessions but then I would always reach this point where it felt like my subconscious would just stop charging any further.

To properly charge psychic abilities, we’re going to have to learn how to get around this intense dampening influence from your body. Once I’d understood how to do this, I could then easily charge my subconscious in response to psychic intentions. We’ll begin our discussion on the technique for doing this in the next section. It mostly involves pre-charging but it is important to recognize just how intense the dampening effect from your body is in order to properly charge psychic energy. That being said, I believe that some people may actually be born with a body that’s not dampening their psychic abilities as much as it is for the average person. These individuals would experience a natural ability to use ESP or influence type psychic abilities. This phenomenon may be where the idea that you have to be born with psychic abilities has come from. However, anyone of course can charge psychic energy and use psychic abilities.

PRE-CHARGING PHASE FOR PSYCHIC ENERGY

Ok now we’re finally ready to talk about how to actually charge the subconscious for the purpose using ESP. In this section we will primarily focus on charging the subconscious during the pre-charge phase of charging. However, because of the extraordinary dampening effect on psychic energy from the body, the pre-charge phase will actually function more like the main phase of charging as you will likely spend much more time building psychic energy during the pre-charging phase and a lot less time building it during the main charging phase – which is the reverse of how we’ve been talking about the charging phases for most of the book series. Before getting deep into the details though, let’s first focus on the basics of what to do with your intention to build psychic energy. The first step is to simply pick the exact target that you want to extract information about through psychic means. Not the most difficult step in the world I imagine and is really one that should go without say. But I wanted to explicitly mention this step first to ensure that you take care to try to really be quite clear about the exact target you want to use ESP on. You don’t want to end up trying to sense some random, vaguely defined target. This of course will make using ESP much harder.

The next step is to now be clear about the exact piece of information that you’re looking to extract from the target. Try not to jump around between different kinds of sensory information throughout your charging sessions. Instead pick one particular category of sensory information and then stick to that one as you charge psychic energy. To make our discussions a bit more concrete and easier to understand, we will simply pick the category of visual information and assume that you’re attempting to gain visual information about the target through psychic means – in this case the kind of ESP we’d be using would, more specifically, be clairvoyance. Although we will primarily constrain our focus to visual sensory information, all of the phenomena that we will talk about has an analog for other kinds of sensory information as well and can be easily adapted to those cases.

Ok once you know the exact target that you’re attempting to gather visual information about, it’s now time to focus on using your intention to enter a transcendental state and charge psychic energy. As an example, let’s say that there’s a picture that’s hidden from you and that you’d like to use your clairvoyance to see this picture. You must first hold the intention to see this target until you enter a transcendental state. It’s important to note that the key word in that sentence is “see”. This is an important point to focus on because holding the intention to creatively visualize the target or imagine what you think the target might look like is not the same as holding the intention to simply “see” the target. You probably rarely ever express the intention to actually see something because your body does all the seeing for you. On top of that your body also dampens the voluntary subconscious expression of sensing things too, so you wouldn't notice very much charging occurring when holding this kind of intention anyway. But when it comes to clairvoyance, it is very important to express the intent to see – again not creatively visualize, imagine or guess.

Now that you’ve picked the target and have decided that you want to use clairvoyance to see what it looks like, you’re now ready to move on to the pre-charging phase for building up your psychic energy. This phase actually starts out pretty much the same as when you’re charging your subconscious for any other kind of charge. Specifically you will want to hold the intention to see the target for a very short interval of time, generally about 10 seconds initially. I recommend closing your eyes during each pre-charge session as this will make it a bit easier to tune out the physical – automatic – sensory experience that’s coming form your body. When you hold this intention to see the target for the very first time, at the beginning of your charge, you may or may not feel your awareness enter a transcendental state. If you do not, that is fine. You will start to feel your awareness shift into a transcendental state during each pre-charge session after the first few sessions. After you’ve held this intention for 10 seconds, you will now want to stop a wait for a while before attempting to pre-charge again. It’s actually here that things will now start to work a little bit differently from the usual pre-charging that we’ve discussed for emotion.

Earlier it was mentioned that psychic energy is incredibly dampened by the body and therefore it doesn’t quite charge in the same way as other kinds of subconscious energy. Well the good news about this is that, as hard as the body works to try to prevent the build up of psychic charge, it still can’t quite fully block it during the pre-charge phase. Recall that the pre-charge phase is essentially an entropy dead zone where subconscious entropy is effectively either turned off or is at least incredibly weakened. This charging phase is such a dead zone that the body has trouble building negative memory even when you’re attempting to build up psychic energy. This is in spite of the incredibly high entropy rate that’s in effect when it comes to psychic energy. However, while you’re still able charge this energy during the pre-charge phase, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the body’s intense dampening effect doesn’t play any role here. One area in particular that’s affected by the body’s dampening effect is your transient memory. Recall that this term refers to the state that your negative memory is in before it reaches its full power. In general you will want to stop each pre-charge session before negative memory reaches full power – usually after about 10 seconds – and start a new pre-charge session after transient memory has gone all the way back down to zero.

This is where the body’s intense dampening effect tends to throw a monkey wrench into our usual way of doing things. Normally you only need to wait about 10 minutes or so before you’re able to go for another pre-charging round again. This is generally all the time that’s needed for pretty much any other kind of subconscious charge, whether that be for emotional energy, creative energy or spiritual energy. However, one thing I’ve noticed with psychic energy is that this timing scheme seems to be wholly insufficient. When I attempted to pre-charge psychic energy in sessions about of 10 seconds and then waited at least 10 minutes before beginning another pre-charge session, and kept doing this over and over, I noticed that I could not continue to charge psychic energy much further past the first few sessions. This was kind of amazing because I’d never actually had any trouble pre-charging before so long as I followed the proper steps. However, since pre-charging the usual way with psychic energy wasn’t working, I decided that I would wait for an even longer period of time in between pre-charge sessions and see if I could “feel” when I was actually ready for another pre-charging session.

Normally when you’re in between pre-charging sessions, you want to try not to focus on the subject associated with your pre-charge because the transient negative memory will start trying to build up again as soon as you do. But for the purposes of knowing how long it really took for transient memory to go all the way back down to zero for psychic energy, I kept weakly focusing on the subject anyway – just to see how fresh the associated feeling, or subconscious response, was when I did. The more fresh and new it felt, the more I knew I was ready for another pre-charging session as this meant that transient negative memory was dropping more and more. Well after some experimenting with this, I eventually came to the conclusion that transient memory takes roughly about an hour to drop back down to zero when it comes to psychic energy. This is actually many times longer than the amount of time it takes for other kinds of charges. I can only assume that this much longer period of time is due to the much higher entropy rate for psychic energy. Thus after you’ve completed a single 10 second pre-charge session for clairvoyance, you will want to wait about a full hour before engaging in another pre-charge session and keep repeating this process over and over. And that’s pretty much all it takes to pre-charge psychic energy.

Just to recap though, when it comes to charging your subconscious to use ESP, you will want to first clearly pick your target and then be very clear about what kind of sensory information it is that you’re looking to gain from the target. Assuming you choose to collect visual information about the target, you would then hold the intention to see the target for about 10 seconds in an effort to pre-charge psychic energy. After this, you would want to wait for about an hour before repeating the process. Each time you do this, you should feel your subconscious charging psychic energy. You will notice that you’re having an easier and easier time entering a transcendental state as a result of holding the particular sense intention you’re using. This means your subconscious is becoming more volatile relative to the act of focusing on the target and the intent to see to it. Now when you do enter a transcendental state, you will naturally tend to mini-dream about the target. In other words, images will naturally come into your mind that actually represent what the target looks like. We will talk about this in more detail in a later section. But this is ultimately how the “receiving” process works for gaining sensory information about a target.

Before moving on, it is also important to remember the rule of thumb that we discussed in chapter 11 of book I when it comes to pre-charging. Namely you will want to try to feel how strongly your subconscious is responding to your sense intention during each pre-charging session. In other words, you will want to try to follow the energy. When you feel your subconscious’ response getting weaker, as you continue to hold a sense intention, then you know you’ve gone on too long for your pre-charge session. Instead, you will want to hold the intention to see some particular target and then allow your subconscious to energetically respond to your intention until it reaches a peak level of intensity. Again this will usually be after about 10 seconds and could even be a little longer after you’ve completed a few pre-charging sessions. You will want to end each pre-charge session right at the peak level of the strength in your subconscious response and then avoid engaging in another pre-charging session for at least an hour later. You can wait longer than this too but generally, so as not to start losing charge, you will want to pre-charge at least a few times throughout the day. And while you’re in between pre-charge sessions, you should try not to even think about the target at all.

THE MAIN CHARGING PHASE

The next phase for charging psychic energy is the main charging phase. During this phase, we’re now going to try to charge for longer intervals than just 10 seconds. Now because subconscious entropy is so incredibly high for psychic energy, we must take care not to charge for too a long a time during this charging session. Now normally your main charging sessions can be as long as you want them to be and don’t necessarily have a limit to them in terms of time. However, they still favor relatively short and intermittent intervals of time. This favoring of intermittency is especially true when it comes to psychic energy. Because negative memory can build up so fast during the main charging phase, it can actually accumulate fast enough to essentially block your main charging capability altogether. This is where pre-charging becomes so helpful and so important in properly charging psychic energy. The positive memory you build up during the pre-charge phase helps to counteract the negative memory that builds during the main charging phase. In a sense, it gives you some leeway to continue building positive memory during the main charging phase before negative memory catches up with you and essentially stops you from building more positive memory. If we were to try to build psychic energy by skipping to the main charging phase first, without pre-charging, then you probably wouldn’t be able to charge much psychic energy at all due to how fast negative memory builds up during this phase. This is part of what causes most people to fail in successfully accessing their psychic abilities.

Now although pre-charging will give you some leeway in terms of timing, this also doesn’t mean that you can just go on main charging forever. After you’ve pre-charged psychic energy for about a day or so and feel that you’re ready to move on to the main charging phase, I recommend to main charge for only about 20 – 30 seconds or so initially. Again this is because of just how fast negative memory accumulates during the main charging phase. After about an hour, you can then main charge again and keep repeating this process. As long as you charge in this timing scheme, then you can continue to keep building up psychic energy. And as your psychic energy charges more and more, you may have more and more leeway to main charge for longer and longer intervals of time without building significant amounts of negative memory while doing so. That being said, let’s now talk about the actual story that you would you tell during this phase. Recall that during the main charging phase, you will want to both hold an intention until you enter a transcendental state and tell a story of some kind as you do. You will also need to learn what kind of stories help to charge your subconscious at a particular frequency or for a particular purpose. But then what kind of stories help to charge psychic energy?

Well, in my experience, highly affirmational stories are best. These are stories that stimulate your subconscious instinct to strongly believe that you’re sensing the target. For example if you’re attempting to sense a picture that is hidden from you, you would tell a story in your mind that is highly motivational and makes you feel strongly convinced that you’re seeing the target in the present moment. You would also keep looping your story around into this same kind of scene over and over again to make your charge more and more intense. As you keep main charging in this way, your subconscious instinct will organize in a special way that causes your transcendental creativity to essentially recreate what the target looks. In other words, if you’re using clairvoyance for example, you will feel an urge to create certain kinds of images in your mind and these images will actually end up imitating the target in some way. This is essentially the basic principle under which ESP works. When attempting to use clairecognizance to sense more abstract information about a target, you would similarly hold an intention to know this abstract information about the target while also telling a highly affirmational story that causes you to believe that you simply know this information about the target. As you do, your subconscious will organize in a way that alters your transcendental belief to perceive an abstract context that imitates the one that matches the target.

Going further, you can charge psychic energy even more powerfully by going into a state of full attention. To accomplish this, you will want to try to tell your affirmational story in a way that really captures your own interest and makes you feel compelled to focus on the story you’re telling more and more. You shouldn’t tell your affirmational story in a lackadaisical way that’s uninteresting and feels like you’re just going through the motions. It should also be noted that telling an interesting story in this manner is always a little hard to do. There’s no real step by step technique you can follow to accomplish this feat every time. However, as you continue to charge using interesting stories, it will become easier and easier for you to enter a state of full attention as you enter a transcendental state of awareness and recreate the target in your mini-dream. Now you can even go a little further than this and use the sleep awake method to enter a state of full attention as well. I actually find that the sleep awake method is even more ideal for psychic energy. This is because, as you’re attempting to sense the target, some part of your attention may be dedicated to simply “guessing” what the target is. As long as some part of your attention is doing this, even if only a little bit, it can affect the images that comes to your mind and make them less accurate. The more interesting the story you tell is, the less attention thoughts like this will have and the less strongly they’ll affect your subconscious instinct. However, when you use the sleep awake method, you can just about completely rid your mind of these guessing thoughts.

This causes the images that pop into your mind then to be much more accurate in terms of recreating the target. To use the sleep awake method here, I usually start off a main charging session by holding an intention and telling an interesting story until I enter a transcendental state and then repeating this process after I've fallen out of a transcendental state as normal. But then, after 10 – 15 seconds into it, I’ll simply relax my mind as if I’m attempting to drift off to sleep. As mentioned in chapter 12 of book I, this technique will only work if you already have a very strong existing charge. If you stop focusing on the target and simply let your mind drift off to sleep, then your mind will just randomly wander all of the place, the same way it does when you normally dream. However, if you have a preexisting psychic energy charge, then that charge will cause your “dream mind” to try to sense the target anyway as it wanders. Thus after I’ve charged a good chunk of psychic energy already, I’ll stop focusing on anything in particular and will then simply allow my mind to drift off like I’m going to sleep. I’ll close my eyes and relax for a few moments and act like I’m trying to sleep. I won’t actually be trying to sleep of course and can do this while standing or sitting down. Instead I’m relaxing my mind as if I’m trying to sleep. When I do this for a few seconds, my mind will temporarily slip into a deeper transcendental state and my pre-existing charge will, presumably, cause my mind to try to sense the target at some point.

This is still a bit of a gamble though because when you enter a deeper transcendental state in this manner, it really will feel like your mind is lost in a normal dream. So sometimes your mind will still choose to do random things while in this state, even if you have a pre-existing psychic energy charge. However, the pre-existing charge will certainly increase the odds that your dream mind attempts to sense the target at some point during your mini-dream. I’ll usually perform this technique in the last 15 – 20 seconds of some main charging session and then wait again for about an hour or so before trying again at the second half of another main charging session. Lastly I should also mention that you can perform a powerful excitement burst when you notice images coming to your mind while in a transcendental state as well. This means that you would try to get your subconscious instinct to produce a burst of effort to “see” the target while in a transcendental state. I find that when I do this, my subconscious organizes more powerfully and for a short moment I feel like I can perceive the target even more clearly. However, I never did this too often because it always hurt my pineal gland so much. Put another way, I always felt like my psychic headache got so much worse when I did this so I avoided it most of the time. I recommend to avoid bursting in this manner if it feels uncomfortable to do so.

PSYCHIC IMPRESSIONS

In this section, I’d like to talk more about the feelings and images you’ll get while in a transcendental state and charging psychic energy. Now during this time, you may still get other random feelings and images that have nothing to do with the target because your intention still has to command your subconscious without actually knowing what the target is. We saw a similar version of this problem when charging transcendental creativity. However, during the times you’re in a transcendental state, your subconscious instinct will, at some point, produce images and feelings that actually are associated with the target – at least your goal is to ensure that your subconscious instinct does this at some point. Now because your subconscious will sometimes produce thoughts related to the target and sometimes won’t, it becomes useful to categorize subconscious thoughts that are related to the target. Thus I like to use the term psychic impressions to refer to the thoughts and feelings you have that actually imitate the target. In the case of clairvoyance, your psychic impressions will generally contain imagery related to what the target looks like. However, in the case of clairaudience, your psychic impressions will be sounds you hear in your mind that imitate what the target sounds like.

An important characteristic of psychic impressions worth discussing is the way that they feel. In my experience charging psychic energy, I’ve come to believe that I can usually recognize when I’m having a psychic impression about the target. While in a transcendental state, I will feel an instinctive compulsion to imagine something that represents the target. Now when this happens, it will have a feeling that is very unique and is even a bit difficult to describe. It’s similar to an emotion but it doesn’t quite feel like a specific one. And yet, it's also a very unique feeling that I have whenever I’m retrieving a psychic impression about a target. This is a feeling that I think you will get used to as you practice psychic abilities more and more. Although you may not always be able to specifically tell when you’re having a psychic impression vs just randomly imagining stuff, one tell tale sign of it is that the compulsion will seem like a very unusual urge for you to have. Normally when your subconscious creates things, it will be in response to your intention in the moment – which in turn can be influenced by past memories, including both short-term and long-term subconscious memory. However, when your subconscious creates things that are meant to imitate the target, then these creations won’t have the same feeling of familiarity that they usually have when based on your own desires and memories. They will instead feel very unusual and out of nowhere.

As an example of this, let’s say that a person is holding a picture of the grand canyon and I’m attempting to use clairvoyance to sense this picture. When I enter a transcendental state and receive psychic impressions of this picture, I might start dreaming about things related to rocks or the large open space that I think of when I see the grand canyon. I may even start getting images related to the reddish color of the grand canyon. Furthermore these impressions could include feelings related to the grand canyon as well. For example I could simply feel a sense of “rockiness” when getting psychic impressions about this target. This feeling and the corresponding images I get would likely be very unusual for me to think about while in a transcendental state. The unusual and random nature of these images and feelings would be a tell tale sign that I’m actually having a psychic impression as opposed to just normal thoughts.

The next important quality to mention about psychic impressions is just how incomplete and vague they can often be. People often think that using psychic abilities means seeing the target with perfect clarity and easily being able to tell what the target is. But that is only a misconception about how these abilities work. On the contrary, psychic impressions can be extremely vague and incomplete. Especially at the beginning of a charge. Because of this, it can be difficult sometimes to make sense of the target based on these impressions. For example if the target is a picture of the ocean, you may get a feeling of water or liquid during a psychic impression. But this feeling could also be so weak that it’s hard to fully recognize as a feeling related to liquid or water. You sometimes see this when psychics say things like “I feel like it could be this” or “I’m getting a sense of such and such” when attempting to connect to the target. What they’re trying to do is hone in on that vague feeling they’re getting during psychic impressions and trying to make as much sense of it as possible. Incomplete or vague images are even more annoying. In this case, the images will imitate the visual qualities of the target but they’ll be too vague on their own for you to be fully sure about what the target is. In some cases these impressions can even only imitate parts of the image and not necessarily the whole thing – something I like to refer to as the “cropping problem”. When you finally see the target however, then all of those vague images and feelings will start to make more sense.

We will talk more about how to reconstruct the target from psychic impressions in the next section. However, for the moment, we can say that psychic abilities are like a glorified games of charades. Your job is to collect a certain amount of data about the target from your psychic impressions and then make an overall guess about what the target is. It should be noted that there is always some guess work involved in ESP. Another misconception about psychic abilities is that there is always certainty involved whenever a person correctly connects to a target and retrieves information about it. It is assumed that if it is possible for me to psychically know some information about the target, then I must be absolutely sure in my interpretation of that information 100% of the time – but that is not true. Being good at using ESP not only means connecting to the target and receiving information about that target, it also means having the forensics like skill of being able to put all of that data together to know what the target is. It may be the case that you correctly gathered some data that represents the target but you’re just not that good at figuring out what the target is based on that data, just as someone who is bad at charades would be. Again we’ll talk more about how to reconstruct the target based on that data shortly.

The last aspect of psychic impressions I’d like to discuss here is in their specificity. In certain experiments, scientist have been known to test a person’s psychic abilities by holding a random card, from a deck of cards, and then asking them to use their ESP to determine what the card is. The problem with this approach however, is that, from the perspective of a psychic impression, all of the cards in the deck would pretty much look the same. It is very difficult to get an impression that reaches such a level of clarity that you’re able to, not only tell that the target is a card, but will even be able to tell it apart from other cards. Psychic abilities are better at making more categorical distinctions rather than more particular ones. For example if you were to instead have a deck of 3 or 4 cards all with very different shapes, then it might be easier to use psychic abilities to see which card was pulled because it is so categorically distinguishable from the other cards in the deck from the perspective of ESP.

COLLECTION AND RECONSTRUCTION PHASES

As you saw in the last section, the actual process of “extracting” usable information from your psychic senses is a very arduous process. It’s not quite like the movies where a psychic simply puts their fingers on their temple and then instantaneously knows all there is to know about the target on the inside and out with perfect clarity. Again this is a very common misconception about how psychic abilities work. In reality, the process is far more messy than this. For example, it is perfectly possible to successfully engage in the supernatural act of “receiving” information about a target at a distance and yet that information is far too vague and all over the place to actually be used to predict what the target really is – which is ultimately your goal at that end. In other words gathering information about the target is only the first step in using your psychic abilities. The second step is actually interpreting the information that you’ve gathered in the first step and then using that information to make your final prediction about what the target actually is. As mentioned earlier, this second step is actually a skill in and of itself. We’ll discuss both steps in more detail in this section starting with the first.

I like to think of ESP as having two phases as far as your psychic predictions go. The first phase is what I like to call the collection phase. As the name suggests, this phase involves simply collecting data about the target through your psychic impressions. It’s important to understand that your goal during this phase is not to try to interpret or make sense of the psychic impressions that you receive about the target. Psychic impressions will almost always give you a vague and incomplete piece of information about the target that, by itself, will not be enough to make an educated guess about what the target really is. I say almost always because, once in a blue moon, you may get a super clear impression that pretty much gives you the gist of what the target is. But that is a very rare occurrence in my experience. More often than not, your psychic impressions will give very weak pieces of information about the nature of the target. However, that is still better than nothing. These vague impressions are at least giving you something to work with. During the collection phase, your job is to try to just keep collecting more and more of these weak pieces of information about the target through your psychic impressions. Worry about interpreting all of this information later. If you try to interpret your impressions too much as you’re still collecting them, then you will start to feel you have a “hunch” about what the target really is.

Now to be clear, this hunch is really just you guessing and actually has nothing to do with the target itself or your psychic abilities. However, the moment you start to think “you just know” what the target really is, then some part of your attention is going to constantly be focused on what you think the target is. This in turn will cause you to produce an intention, no matter how weakly, to visualize something similar to what you think the target is. This phenomenon is almost unavoidable to some extent while collecting information about the target, especially as you get more and more impressions, however, it will be far more disruptive when you actively keep trying to figure out what the target is while you’re still collecting data on it. Again during the collection phase, you will just want to try to just collect data about the target and be as unbiased as possible while you’re doing so.

Another important part of the collection phase involves the amount of data you actually need to collect to sufficiently figure out what the target is. Clearly a single psychic impression about a target would be an insufficient amount of information to make an educated guess on what the target is most of the time. For example if the target is a picture of a beach and I get a psychic impression of a grainy image and a feeling of dryness, then that wouldn’t be enough to figure out that the target is a beach by itself. Clearly I need to get more impressions of the target before I’m ready to make my prediction. But then the question is how much more? Each psychic impression is like a partial snapshot of the target. It will give you some piece of information related to the nature of what the target is. An interesting question to ask is how many of these snapshots are necessary to make a good prediction about the target? Well that’s the thing, there’s no one size fits all answer that can be given. Sometimes you may get a series of really good impressions that make it a lot easier to tell what the target most likely is. Other times you won’t and will need to take more impressions as a result. Different targets can also have different levels of complexity in terms of the pieces of information that can be attributed to them. A picture for example is mostly just going to have visual information related to it. This isn’t too bad and may require only a few impressions before you might think you’re ready to predict the target. I used to take about 10 – 15 or so impressions before I thought I was ready to make a prediction.

However, if the target is an actual event in history, then you may have to get impressions about the timing, the people involved, the environment, sounds related to the event and so on. Such a target would naturally require way more impressions to be able to reconstruct. Furthermore it would even require you to use different clair types and possibly focus on different pieces of the target for a period of time. This would be an extraordinary task and is actually one that I think would be too much work for any one person to perform. Gathering enough data for a complex event like that should be performed by a group of psychics, each one collecting data about a particular component of the overall target. However, if the target is a fairly a simple picture, then one person should be enough to gather a sufficient amount of data to be able to predict the target on their own. It is recommended to write down each psychic impression you get for a target in a log. I’ve noticed that when I get a psychic impression, I tend to forget the information contained in that impression rather quickly – similar to forgetting a dream shortly after waking up. So I decided to start writing my impressions down in a log to record them. Now because psychic impressions can be so vague and unusual in nature, it is important to write them down as descriptively as possible before you forget all the little details your impression had. For example if you get a feeling of water or something being very round, make sure to write that down as you may forget it a few seconds or minutes later. Always try to be as descriptive as possible regarding the images and feelings you get during a psychic impression.

Ok let’s now move on to the second phase of using psychic abilities, the reconstruction phase. As the name suggests, this is the phase where you attempt to reconstruct the target or try to figure out what it really is. At this point you would now access your log and look at all of the psychic impressions you recorded. As you look through this record, you may notice that some impressions keep repeating themselves over and over again in your log. In a sense, there’s a certain descriptive theme that seems to be attributable to the target. However, it needn’t always be the case that your records repeat themselves because of some unchanging attribute of the target. Instead your records could also be repeating themselves due to your own personal biases. Certain images and feelings could keep popping into your mind because of your own deeply held interest and preferences. Unfortunately you cannot know for sure which repeating themes actually reflect the nature of target – which means you correctly received the information using psychic abilities – and which ones are just from you having an overactive imagination during the collection process. To deal with this problem, I decided to use a process for handling the data that I like to call themes permutation method. For this process, I would take the list of impressions I recorded and create different categories out of them.

The first category would consists of the total of all of the impressions I recorded for the target. I would then try to make a prediction about what the target was based on these impressions. After this, I would create smaller categories out of my recorded impressions. I would give each repeating impression a number and then also number the non-repeating impressions. From there I would then create different categories of data that were based on all of the different possible combinations of these numbers. This includes making each single repeating impression its own category so that I’m making a prediction based on that one repeating impression. I would then list all of the combinations of two of the numbers from the numbered list of repeating and non-repeating impressions and then list all combinations for three numbers from the numbered list and so on. In the end, I’d have a list of all the possible combinations of the repeating and non-repeating impressions. The idea here is that one of these combinations will correctly contain only psychic impressions that accurately represent the target. Of course you won’t know which one in advance so you’ll have to make predictions for all of these possibilities. If the technique works, then one of your predictions should be an extremely accurate description of the target.

While this technique may be quite useful for making an accurate prediction about a target, it still clearly involves a lot of work. This is even after we’ve already gone through the work of using psychic abilities to retrieve information about the target. Furthermore the more complex the target, the more impressions you’ll need to get and the more work will be involved. This arduous messiness is how psychic abilities actually work in the real world. Because I’d always get such bad headaches when trying to collect data through psychic impressions, I haven’t been able to actually use this technique too often. However, when I have, I predicted with extraordinary accuracy a target that was actually an image of colorful air balloons in the sky. Or at least one my predictions – of the 5 that I had for that particular target – was extremely accurate. It should be noted that if more than one person collects data about the target as well, then the data from all individuals involved could also be used to attempt to reconstruct the target. This should also help to more clearly eliminate repeated themes that come from a person’s bias rather than the target itself.

RECONSTRUCTING NUMBER AND WORDS

As you saw in the previous section, using your psychic abilities to make predictions about what a target actually is can be a very involved process. It’s not as simple as retrieving some information about the target at a distance and then the job is done. We primarily looked at the more complete process of collecting data about a target and then reconstructing it in cases where the target was a simple image. However, what might be even more interesting are cases where the target is a word or a number. For example, let’s say that a person’s name is hidden from you but you have some details about the actual person themselves. Is it possible to use your psychic abilities to reconstruct the name of this person? Well this is actually something that is commonly attempted in the psychic community and is generally considered to be notoriously difficult to accomplish. I have also found this to be a fairly difficult task in my own experiences as well. In general images are usually much easier to reconstruct than words or numbers. But then what makes words and numbers so hard to reconstruct?

Well I believe the main reason has to do with the fact that numbers and words are actually symbols that we use to reference certain ideas. We don’t care so much about the specific image or sound you’re using to represent the symbol so long as it is clear enough to make out what the symbol is. For example if I type the word “sky” in bold or italic or using different fonts, it really doesn’t matter as long as it’s clear enough to see the word “sky”. Similarly if you say the word sky in a high voice, a low voice or a funny voice, it doesn’t really matter as long as I can still make out that you said the word sky. In other words, numbers and words only become “information” when we’re able to perceive them with an extraordinary degree of discernment. The way written and spoken language is set up, this bar of discernment is easily reached whenever we’re using one of our 5 senses to perceive words. However, when using your 6th sense, it is way harder to discern these symbols with the same level of clarity. For example let’s say that there is a sign that says “Oak Tree Lane”. What would a psychic impression of the image of this sign look like?

Well an image pertaining to the colors and shape of the sign might pop into your mind and give you an idea about the target is as it relates to those attributes. But what about the actual words in the sign? Could you ever get clear enough psychic impressions to eventually make out the words? Recall that psychic impressions are generally very vague and incomplete by themselves. Well even when taking a large amount of snapshots of a word, could you eventually distinguish between words like “oat” and “oak” or “ate” and “boat”? These are clearly very different words despite how similar they all are and it’s not really good enough for my psychic prediction of a word to be another word that’s very close to it. From a psychic perspective though, all of these words would look fairly similar to each other. This is also true of numbers as well. Thus it will always be very difficult to use psychic abilities to reconstruct words and numbers. With that being said however, I do believe your best bet at doing this would be to take a large number of impressions of the target and do so using different clair types.

For example you could use clairecognizance to try to get a sense of how big or small the word is. This wouldn’t actually involve any numbers but just a general feeling of size. After taking multiple impressions of this, you could then move on to seeing where in the alphabet the first letter is. This also wouldn’t be a precise number but a general feeling of where in the alphabet the first letter is. You could then try to use clairvoyance to see the image of the first letter in the word and take a few impressions of that. After that you could use clairaudience to try to hear what the first letter sounds like and then repeat these processes with the next letter and the next one after that. At some point you could also use clairaudience to try to hear what the full word sounds like and then use clairvoyance to try to see what the whole word looks like. Eventually with all of your data, you might be able to make out or “decrypt” what the target word is, or at least narrow down the possibilities. With this technique, there is chance however, that you could be focusing on a letter that doesn’t actually exist in the target. For example if I held the intention to know information about the fourth letter in the word “ate”, I likely wouldn't notice any repeating themes in my psychic impressions and would receive images and feelings only from personal bias. I call these kinds of targets “null targets” since they basically don’t exist. In spite of this potential problem, you might still be able to make a prediction that’s close to the real word in the target. However, as you could probably tell, getting this number of impressions would be an astronomical amount of work and would be way too much for one person. As a result, I’ve never actually tested this method myself to see if I could successfully decrypt a word in this manner.

PSYCHIC ENERGY AND DEPRESSION

I’d like to now talk about a very negative side effect of psychic energy that I’ve noticed. This has to do with the way psychic energy affects your emotions and spirituality.  When I first got into the practicing of using psychic abilities, I started to notice that I got very very depressed when I did. This was relatively strange for me because I’d rarely ever felt depressed. For whatever reason that was just an emotional problem that I’ve never really had that much trouble with. However, when I practiced psychic abilities, all of a sudden I got very depressed. At that time I had no idea what this meant. Although I didn’t know as much about the subconscious then as I believe I do now, I still knew that the subconscious was quantized by intention. I started to wonder if the usage of psychic abilities was assigned to a negative frequency and if this depressed feeling I was experiencing was actually just the emotion assigned to that frequency. I also wondered if this meant that psychic abilities were inherently wrong or evil in nature. For a long time I wasn’t quite sure about this answer. Because I kept getting psychic headaches when practicing these abilities, I thought that maybe this depressed feeling was simply the result of some issue with my pineal gland and that it didn’t actually mean that psychic abilities were inherently bad to use. However, over time I’ve started to believe that psychic abilities, particularly ESP, is simply antithetical to spiritual energy. This is because I’ve never been able to charge a lot of spiritual energy and psychic energy at the same time.

It’s always very difficult to charge both. It feels similar to when I’m trying to charge the love and hate emotions at the same time. I can only conclude that this is because using ESP is general is a sinful behavior that pushes spiritual energy away. Now to be fair this may not necessarily be for all uses of psychic abilities. It could be that there are some uses of ESP that don’t push spiritual energy away. However, for every usage of ESP that I’ve practiced, it felt like psychic energy was pushing spiritual energy away. Now when you engage in other sinful behaviors more and more, you may feel some negative emotion such as hate, anger, sadness or jealousy more and more as your spiritual energy continues to drop. However, with psychic abilities, you just get more and more depressed as psychic energy grows and spiritual energy drops. As mentioned in chapter 5, this drop in spiritual energy makes you more susceptible to contact from negative entities. For this reason, I hardly ever charge psychic energy. Again the reason I’ve even bothered to mention the details for charging psychic energy in this chapter is so that you can simply have a better understanding of how psychic abilities actually work and how sending and receiving information works in the spirit world. I've also including this information because God may call you to use psychic abilities in a good way to serve him.

PSYCHIC ABILITIES AND THE HOLY SPIRIT

In spite of the antithetical nature of psychic energy and spiritual energy that I’ve been suggesting, I would like to state that there may actually be a time where one is able to charge both of these energies quite easily and naturally. As I've developed my relationship with God and reached higher levels of spiritual energy charge, I believe there are certain insights that I've gained since practicing psychic abilities and both feeling depression and having dark experiences using them so many years ago from the time of this writing. I've come to now believe that psychic abilities are really just like any one of the other mental abilities that you have. Namely, none of your abilities are inherently bad or evil and you're committing sin solely by virtue of using some mental ability of yours. Rather, it's how you use your mental abilities that determines whether or not you're committing some act of evil by using them. I've come to now believe that this is also true for your psychic abilities as well. Specifically, it's how you use your psychic abilities that determines whether or not using them pushes spiritual energy away or brings it in.

When I first started to practice psychic abilities, I was actually using them to try to get simple information about hidden targets. However later I was also determined to use them in a way related to making money. I now believe that these underlying intentions are what caused my spiritual energy to drop when charging psychic energy. The way I see psychic abilities now is pretty much consistent with what I mentioned in a previous chapter about the spirit world. Namely you can either use psychic abilities in service of God or not in service of God. There is no in between. I think psychic abilities have a very special set of rules on them from God in terms how we're to use them in this world. If we use psychic abilities outside of those rules, then our spiritual energy gets pushed away to let us that what we're doing is wrong. That's why I got so depressed using psychic abilities and could never figure out how to charge both spiritual energy and psychic energy together. I was not spiritually developed enough to use these abilities in a way that was aligned with God's will. This makes sense since I hadn't begun my "conversation with God" back then in the manner that I mentioned in chapter 4. If I had, I would have just asked for his help in learning how to use my psychic abilities.

Even if I thought my intentions were just, I was still using psychic abilities outside of the divine rules in which I was allowed to use them. But then just what are these special rules then for psychic abilities? Well, that's just it, I don't think there are a universal set of rules any one can just look at and try to stay within as they use these psychic abilities. At the very least, I have not had enough experience with these abilities to discover these rules. I think that you can only really use psychic abilities properly when you're being directed in how to use them by God. In other words, you've got to first get approval from God to use these abilities and then, from there, the Holy Spirit will direct you in how to use them properly. There is no point where you're free to use psychic abilities how ever you feel like. If you're not using these abilities for God and in a way that is aligned with his will, then you're basically using them against his will, which of course is evil. I believe this is what the occult and witchcraft represent. In these communities, psychic abilities are sought after for the purpose of using them according to one's own will as opposed to God's and that is why they constantly end up with spiritually negative experiences.

Some so called witches believe that they are not engaging in evil because they are using psychic abilities for what they themselves have deemed to be good causes. For example, in witchcraft, there is a branch of magic that is referred to as white magic or the right hand path. In this branch of practice, witches use their psychic abilities to help others. But I believe that even this is still evil because we do not have the judgment to truly know what is good in this way, we have to defer to God's judgment for that. Furthermore the supernatural phenomenon they refer to as "magic", which is really just an influence type psychic ability, is very tricky to control properly and ensure positive outcomes for using our own will. That's why it's important for us to defer to God to obtain both direction and assistance from the Holy Spirit so that we use it the right way. We will discuss this concept more in the next chapter and in chapter 10. Suffice it to say though, this is why people who practice psychic abilities for so called good causes, such as in reiki, very often still end up feeling very empty and depressed and have dark experiences. They're still losing spiritual energy despite using psychic abilities for what they thought was a good cause. On the other hand I've seen people use psychic abilities and was convinced that they were not using them in a dark or evil way. And these people would usually all have something in common, they'd actually talk about God and his will or their relationship with him a lot where as witches and occult practitioners rarely ever mention God or Jesus at all. And the one's who'd talk about God a lot would always be using their psychic abilities in a some way that seemed to help others find God.

It's never about selfishly using psychic abilities to try to cheat when it comes to getting through the difficulties of life as is often done in witchcraft. The main reason more people do not use psychic abilities in the positive way is because most people do not have that kind of relationship with God. They have not consciously established a conversation with God and therefore are unable to receive directions from him in regards to using their psychic abilities. The exception to this though are people I believe were born to use their abilities to serve God. These are individuals who just have psychic abilities in a "turned on" state from birth. Sometimes it is presumed that these abilities represent evil or a generational curse. But I remember listening to a woman, who was born with psychic abilities, mention that her abilities actually got stronger whenever she would draw nearer to God rather than weaker. This makes sense if it was her purpose to use her abilities to serve God. I have similarly heard of a woman who stated that her father, a Christian preacher, was told by an angel that his daughter would have special abilities when born. Those abilities turned to be out her psychic abilities.

I will talk more about life's purpose in chapter 10. However I believe that there are certain individuals who are born to use their psychic abilities in a positive way to serve God. However because they haven't learned how to raise their spiritual energy at a young age, they often see many dark figures when they're young. This is exactly why psychic abilities are in the turned off state for most people to begin with and is why the body works so hard to dampen them. I believe psychic abilities can really only be used properly when one has reached a certain level of spiritual growth. This means that they have a strong relationship with God and are able to be directed by his will. Only then, might they be able to use psychic abilities properly. For example, although I have not tried to yet, I believe that I could now use psychic abilities without experiencing that drop in spiritual energy that I mentioned previously. But then I also wouldn't be using them for the same frivolous reasons that I was in the past and would simply ask God how he wishes for me to use them. Most people think of psychic abilities as being cool and want to use them to do cool things. Well this very attitude indicates that they're also not ready to use them yet. And when people start using them anyway, they lose spiritual energy and start being contacted by negative entities. Thus if you're interested in using psychic abilities, it is very important to pray to God and ask if it is his will for you to use them and, if so, to guide you in using them to serve him. Again, anything else is just the occult.

TELEPATHY

No discussion on sensory type psychic abilities is complete without at least some mention of one of the most popular of all psychic abilities –telepathy. This of course refers to the ability for a person to, in a sense, hear the thoughts of another person or being. While I don’t have much experience with this particular psychic ability, I would like to briefly discuss my insights and beliefs on this ability. First, I believe this ability does exist and works by transcendentally connecting your subconscious to another sentient being. So far, we’ve been talking about transcendentally connecting your subconscious to inanimate objects or physical events. But what about connecting your subconscious to living things with an awareness and consciousness that has the ability to think? What happens when your subconscious connects to a target like this? Well as you might expect, you will be able to spiritually sense the person’s thoughts. But I don’t believe it will be quite as simple or as clear as sensing every thought from this person’s conscious mind. Rather, I believe that you will be able to sense this person’s subconscious thoughts, which has to do with what they’re imagining and the emotions they’re feeling. This would also come in the form of psychic impressions. These impressions would start off weak and vague initially but would become more clear and continuous as your subconscious transcendentally connects to a person more and more. I’ve never actually tried to connect to another person in this manner, but I theorize that such a phenomenon is possible and that this is what would happen if you did try to hear a person’s thoughts. However, this may be a negative usage of psychic abilities and could lower your subconscious frequency as a result.

REMOTE VIEWING

The last topic in this chapter I’d like to briefly discuss is the discipline of remote viewing. We mentioned this term a few times before now and you may have even heard of it on your own. But what does it really mean to remote view? And how does one engage in this practice? Well the term itself is really just referring to the same phenomenon as ESP, which is sensing external things through the use of one’s spiritual senses. However, what really differentiates these two terms is in the method that one uses to collect information about the target. In our discussion, it was advised to simply record the information you get from each psychic impression in a log and then attempt to guess what the target is based on those impressions. It was even mentioned that you could collect this data using different sense intentions. Well this is actually a very general and generic approach to the collection and reconstruction phases for ESP.  Remote viewing however, uses a much more sophisticated approach where you’re given much more direction in terms of how you collect information about the target. This presumably makes it much easier to reconstruct the target later. In fact remote viewers will often use these directions to attempt to reconstruct real-world events or environments rather than simple hidden images. I have never formally studied the topic of remote viewing myself, but that is my understanding of how this practice differs from your standard ESP attempt. If you’re interested in receiving more guidance in the collection phase of ESP, then I recommend seeking out a good a remote viewing training course.
